Academically Neutral
The NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) programme offers NUS undergraduate students a unique
opportunity in entrepreneurship education at 3 different locations: Silicon Valley,
Bio Valley (Philadelphia) and Shanghai.
Students selected for the programme will experience internship in technology-based
start-up companies in the world's leading entrepreneurial hubs. At the same time,
classes will be taken at reputable foreign universities, namely Stanford University,
University of Pennsylvania, Fudan University and the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).

Finanically Neutral
The NUS Overseas Colleges programme is financially neutral. Students selected for the programme continue to pay regular tuition fees to NUS for the duration of the NOC programme. At the same time, you are paid a monthly stipend by their internship company. Students however are expected to incur differing levels of personal monthly expenditure, depending on your destination, as costs of living differ across the respective colleges.
The financial details of the NOC programme are as follows:-
NUS Overseas Colleges will provide the following:-
- Tuition fees for approved entrepreneurship and discipline-based courses at the overseas college;
- consulting professor appointed to supervise student on internship;
- You will also receive an average of RMB1500 / USD1200 / SEK6500 a month as allowance from the company you are interning with in Shanghai / Philadelphia / Silicon Valley or Stockholm respectively.
Students need to pay:-
- your regular tuition and other miscellaneous fees to NUS; and
- additional RMB1500 or USD500 a month (approx) to supplement your living expenses according to individual lifestyle.
Depending on destination, you may also have to pay up to S$5,000 to cover the cost of:-
- return economy air ticket;
- cost of visa application; and
- basic medical insurance
