Dr Lars Öjefors, former President, Industrifonden ( Swedish Industrial Development Fund) |

Dr Lars Öjefors retired from his position as the president of Industrifonden (Swedish Industrial Development Fund) in early 2005. Industrifonden is a major player on the Swedish venture capital market. It was set up as a foundation by the Swedish government in 1979 to finance Swedish companies and help them grow. To-date, Industrifonden has invested a total capital of 1,675 million SEK in 260 companies. Prior to joining Industrifonden, Dr Öjefors held key leadership positions at Axel Johnson AB and NYDO Co with interests in the energy and environment sectors. He received his PhD in Chemical Technology from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, KTH) in 1975. Today, Dr Öjefors continues to play an active role in the Swedish industrial and research sectors and holds a number of board appointments. He chairs a fuel cells research program under MISTRA, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research. He is also the chairman of Connect Sweden , an organization that links entrepreneurs to resources and network essential for growing a business. |
