Himawan Gunadhi

Dr. Himawan Gunadhi has more than twenty years of diversified experience in business and information technology including strategy, M&A, technology transfer, operations, business development and marketing. Dr. Gunadhi is the COO of Ilial, Inc., a VC funded Internet advertising and search technology startup based in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to that, he was a partner in an IT incubator that successfully launched and raised funding for several companies, including Medcere LLC in healthcare and IPI LLC in public safety. Previously, he was the President and CEO of WiseNut, Inc., an algorithmic search engine startup in Santa Clara, CA, that launched global, Japanese and Korean search engines in 2001 and was syndicated to InfoSpace, Lycos Japan, Excite Japan and other portals. WiseNut’s global search was ranked third in 2001 and its Japanese engine ranked first for several years by leading independent testers. Dr. Gunadhi led WiseNut through a successful exit with its acquisition by LookSmart Ltd of San Francisco, CA, in 2002. He also served as M&A strategy consultant to Overture Services prior to its acquisition by Yahoo, and as advisory board member to Premier Guide, Inc., a profitable private label local search company. Before entering the Internet, Dr. Gunadhi was a Practice Director of IT strategy consulting at Gartner, Inc., where he managed a practice covering eight western states and was a top ten performer worldwide in revenue and sales, achieving a high-level of client satisfaction and repeat engagements. Dr. Gunadhi received a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley, and BBA Honors from the National University of Singapore.
Ho Teck Hua

Ho Teck Hua received a B.Eng. (First-Class Honors), Electrical Engineering and M.Sc., Computer and Information Science from the National University of Singapore. He then obtained a M.A., Decision Sciences and a Ph.D., Decision Sciences at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Nam Ling

Nam Ling received a B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He received an M.S. degree and a Ph.D. degree, both in Computer Engineering, from the Center for Advanced Computer Studies at the University of Louisiana (formerly the University of Southwestern Louisiana), Lafayette, Louisiana, U.S.A. After completing his Ph.D. in 1989, Dr. Ling joined Santa Clara University, located in Silicon Valley, California, U.S.A.

He is currently a full Professor with the Department of Computer Engineering and the Associate Dean (Graduate Programs and Research) for the School of Engineering, Santa Clara University. As Associate Dean, Dr. Ling oversees the graduate programs and faculty research for six engineering departments (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Engineering Management, and Applied Mathematics).

He served as the Acting Chair of the Department of Computer Engineering in 1999. He was also an Arthur Vining Davis Junior Faculty Fellow in 1991-92, and a Senior Research Fellow, visiting the Center for Signal Processing, Nanyang Technological University, in Singapore, during 1998. He will be visiting the Laboratories for Information Technology, Singapore, in August 2002, as a Visiting Professor.

Eduardo B. Andrade

Eduardo B. Andrade received a BSBA, Business Administration from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil in 1993. He received a M.Sc., Marketing from the École des HEC - Université de Montréal, Canada in 1996, and a Ph.D., Marketing from the University of Florida ,US in 2004.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley and has been teaching Consumer Behavior courses

His current fields of research include Affect (emotions and mood) and its consequence on consumer judgment and decision making.

Pamela J. Hinds

Pamela J. Hinds is an Associate Professor with the Center on Work, Technology, & Organization in the Department of Management Science & Engineering, Stanford University. She studies the effect of technology on groups. Pamela has conducted extensive research on the dynamics of geographically distributed work teams, particularly those spanning national boundaries. She explores issues of culture, language, shared identity, conflict, and the role of face-to-face meetings in promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration. Pamela also conducts research on professional service robots in the work environment, examining how people make sense of them and how they affect work practices.

She serves on the editorial board of Organization Science and is co-editor with Sara Kiesler of the book Distributed Work (MIT Press). Her research has appeared in journals such as Organization Science, Research in Organizational Behavior, Human-Computer Interaction, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.

Prof Wong Poh Kam

Dr. Wong obtained two BSc.’s., an MSc. and a Ph.D. from MIT and currently holds joint Associate Professorship appointments at NUS Business School and LKY School of Public Policy. He concurrently serves as Director, Entrepreneurship Centre, NUS, where he oversees the strategic development of experiential education program in entrepreneurship, the formulation and implementation of various university technology commercialization and spin-off support programs (including incubators, seed funding scheme, entrepreneur mentoring, networking activities with venture investors, etc) as well as various general entrepreneurship promotion/outreach programs (including the StartUp@Singapore national business plan competition and entrepreneurship training workshops for working professionals). He also directs the centre’s research program on technology entrepreneurship and innovation strategy. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) by the Singapore Government in 2005.

He has published in numerous international journals on high tech industries, innovation strategy/policy and technology entrepreneurship, and is the lead researcher for Singapore in a number of major international collaborative research projects, including the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) study and the Stanford Project on Regions of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SPRIE). He is currently leading an 8-country comparative research project on Asian university technology commercialization funded a Japanese foundation. He has also consulted widely for international agencies (e.g. the World Bank and Asian Development Bank), various government agencies in Singapore (e.g. A*STAR, EDB, IDA, MPA), and many high tech firms in Asia.

An active angel investor with investment in Singapore, Silicon Valley, Malaysia and China, he is the founding chairman of Business Angel Network (Southeast Asia) as well as the founding chairman of BAF Spectrum Pte Ltd, an angel investment fund supported by SPRING Singapore. He is a board member of NUS Technology Holdings, and a panel member of The Enterprise Challenge (TEC) since 2004.
