I used to watch documentaries on travel, just read about Ivy League schools, and only dream about
working in a start-up... but to be doing all three at once, and in the company of brilliant peers, no
less, is the kind of stuff you tell your grandchildren about- not every Singaporean gets to live The American Dream, even if only for a year. |

Through the NOC programme. I experienced for myself what it was like to stand on groundless ground and live a courageous life.
Because of the generosity and grace I was given to fail as much as I need to, I saw for myself the possibilties of who I can be.

NCBV has a great mix of companies in Biotechnology, Information Technology and other industries. It is not a normal programme that can be made successful by simply pumping in more money and sending more students. It requires that the participants themselves do their part and dare to live the dream, which NOC is trying to inspire. There is no greater opportunity to build your own professional network not just amongst industry professionals but also with others who share your passion. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to strive for the best and to take up the challenge of entrepreneurship. |

As I paused and looked at the journey I went through so far, I realised how fortunate I have been..... a great mentor at RheoGene who tries his very best to groom me into a future medicinal chemist; awesome batchmates (batch 6 rocks!!!) who are always there for me; and a wonderful programme director who has become a friend to most of us.... life in NCBV will never be as fulfilling and enjoyable without them! To sum it up, I'm extremely glad that I chose to climb this mountain because it's really an experience of a lifetime!” |

We start the NOC programme with many dreams and we leave the programme with the knowledge and skills to make those dreams become reality. Everyone has a unique NOC experience. We go through ups and downs, tears and joy and at the end of the day we emerge stronger, more resilient and better suited to handle our trials in life. . |

I felt that I have had 10 times more experiences and accomplishments in my one year with NCBV than I had in 22 years of my life. This programme has truly exposed me to the "big world" out there; breaking barriers, crossing cultures and expanding every facet of my mind. The journey was made even more complete by the life-long relationships I've made with the people I've met here, both NCBV and non-NCBV. All that I have left to say in this really short paragraph is that NOC has made me a much more mature, more focused, more confident and eternally grateful man. |
