Programme Details



Our prestigious Full Year Programme provides entrepreneurial NUS students with the opportunity to spend a year of their undergraduate life overseas, working and studying in leading entrepreneurial academic hubs around the world.

You will intem in a challenging start-up environment in any of the following locations - Silicon Valley or Philadelphia in the USA, Shanghai or Beijing in China, Stockholm in Sweden. At the same time, you will study at our renowned partner universities: Stanford University or the University of Pennsylvania in the USA, Fudan University or Tsinghua University in China, or Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden.

Under the programme, you will be awarded a scholarship to cover the additional costs that may be incurred from going overseas. Furthermore, you may receive up to 40 Modular Credits for the two semesters spent on this programme, so that with proper planning, you will not need to extend your candidature. Upon successful completion of the programme, a Technopreneurship Minor will also be incorporated into your Bachelor's degree.

Financial Details
The Full Year Programme is financially neutral. Students selected for the programme continue to pay regular tuition fees to NUS for the duration of the programme. At the same time, you are paid a monthly stipend by their internship company. Students however are expected to incur differing levels of personal monthly expenditure, depending on your destination, as costs of living differ across the respective colleges.

NUS Overseas Colleges will provide the following
  • Tuition fees for approved entrepreneurship and discipline-based courses at the overseas college;
  • Consulting professor appointed to supervise student on internship;
  • You will also receive an average of RMB1500 / USD1200 / SEK6500 a month as allowance from the company you are interning with in Shanghai / Philadelphia / Silicon Valley or Stockholm respectively.
Students need to pay
  • Your regular tuition and other miscellaneous fees to NUS; and
  • Additional RMB1500 or USD500 a month (approx) to supplement your living expenses according to individual lifestyle.
Depending on destination, you may also have to pay up to S$5,000 to cover the cost of
  • Return economy air ticket;
  • Cost of visa application; and
  • Basic medical insurance.

Eligibility
  1. Students should be enrolled in full-time NUS undergraduate courses.
  2. Students should have completed 4 semesters of study and/or individually gained about 80 modular credits at the point of departure and MUST have at least one remaining semester of study on upon return to NUS without exceeding their maximum candidature.
  3. First year undergraduate students are welcome to apply for this programme. Although you will not be scheduled for interviews, you will be part of the "Friends of NOC" programme where you can learn more about the programme and get better prepared for the selection process.
  4. Students should not be involved in the Industrial Attachments (IA) or major projects like Final Year Project (FYP) or Honors Year Project (HYP) at the point of departure.
  5. Students of Chinese nationality are not eligible to apply for NUS College in Beijing or NUS College in Shanghai.
