| Professor Anders Hult, Fiber and Polymer Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology |

Dr Anders Hult received his master's degree in Chemical Engineering in 1978 and his PhD in Polymer Technology in 1982 from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology, KTH . He joined the Department of Polymer Technology at KTH as research associate (1984-1986) and associate professor (1986). Shortly after in 1988, he attained full professor status. Between 1999 and 2004, Dr Hult served as Dean of the School of Chemistry , Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at KTH. He was also a visiting professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne ( EPFL ) in Lausanne , Switzerland in 1993 and University of Texas , Austin , USA in 2004. Dr Hult has also been active in various professional and research boards and institutions and is currently the chairman of the Coating Science and Technology Centre in Stockholm . He has published over 200 papers and has successfully filed 9 patents.
Dr Anders Hult is also appointed Academic Advisor of NUS College in Stockholm with effect from 1 June 2006. |

Professor Hans von Holst,
Neuronic Engineering, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Karolinska Institute

Dr Hans von Holst received his PhD from Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden) in 1985 and became a resident in neurosurgery at the Karolinska University Hospital in 1977. He was promoted to senior consultant in 1982 with surgical interest and expertise in vascular, tumour and trauma diseases. He is also a professor in neuronic engineering at the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology, KTH since 1995, and since 2003, at Karolinska Institutet. Dr von Holst was appointed chairman of the Neurosurgical Department and the Division of Neuroclinics at Karolinska University Hospital between 1991 and 1996. He was formerly the chairman of the Center for Technology and Health at Karolinska Institutet and KTH. Aside from being an active member of various commissions, boards and institutions, Dr von Holst has also initiated ventures and projects that can help to prevent brain injury and promote a culture of safety. |

Professor Magnus Boman, Intelligent Software Services,

Dr Magnus Boman splits his time between KTH and the Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS). With a doctoral degree in Computer & Systems Sciences from Stockholm University, he was appointed a full professor in Intelligent Software Services by KTH in 2003. At KTH, Dr Boman co-leads the Synthetic Populations research group with Dr Lisa Brouwers. At SICS, he heads the Userware research laboratory supported by a team of 12 full-time researchers. Dr Boman has an extensive and active network of international post-doc cooperators in Europe, the United States and Japan. Besides publishing more than 40 journal papers, book chapters as well as books covering computer science, logic, economics, and systems theory, Dr Boman is also on the editorial board of the Robotics and Autonomous Systems journal. He also co-founded in 2002 the international series of Mobility Roundtable in mobile information technology held annually for the industry and the academia. |

Associate Professor Vladimir Vlassov, Computer Systems, KTH Royal Institute of Technology |

Dr Vladimir Vlassov received his Ph.D. in 1984 from the Department of Computer Engineering, Electrotechnical University of St.Petersburg, Russia, where he was an assistant professor and an associate professor during 1985-1993. In 1993, he joined the Department of Electronic, Computer and Software Systems (ECS), Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm , Sweden , where he is currently an associate professor in computer systems. In 1995 and 1996, Dr Vlassov received research grants from the Wenner-Gren Center Foundation for Scientific Research, Sweden . In 1998, he worked as a visiting scientist at Laboratory for Computer Science (LCS), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge , MA , USA . In 2004 he was an invited visiting researcher at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Massachusetts (UMASS), Amherst , MA , USA . Dr Vlassov has experience in national and international research projects and a long teaching experience. He is currently participating in several EU-projects in the area of Grid computing and large-scale distributed systems. |

Dr Bengt Källbäck , Technology & Health, KTH Royal Institute of Technology |

Dr Bengt Källbäck received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 1974. Between 1974 and 1983, Dr Källbäck was appointed as an Assistant Professor in Solid State Electronics at KTH. His areas of research were solid state microwave devices, fiber optics and solar cells. Between 1983 and 2001, he served in a number of positions within Ericsson , which included Ericsson's representative in the International Council for Open and Distance Education for the period 1998 to 2001. In 2001, he rejoined KTH while also becoming a joint owner and covering CEO for Cuptronic AB , an award-winning company that develops an environmental friendly technology for printed circuit boards. After stepping down as CEO of Cuptronic, Dr Källbäck founded HLB Catheter AB in 2006 and is currently on leave of absence from KTH to run the company. HLB develops a heart catheter, based on an innovation that was awarded first prize in the national innovation competition “Skapa”in 2006. |

Dr Anna Carlmark Malkoch has a doctorate in polymer technology from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden in 2004. Today she is an Assistant Professor with the Fiber and Polymer Technology Department at KTH since 2007. Between 2004 and 2007, she was a scientist with GE Healthcare, Gyros and SweTree Technologies in Uppsala, Sweden. She remains a scientific consultant for SweTree Technologies and is also appointed a junior principal investigator for the Swedish Center for Biomimetric Fiber Engineering (Biomime).

Dr Christina Bendz obtained her PhD from the Department of Medical and Physiological Chemistry at the University of Uppsala, Sweden in 1994. She has extensive experience as a cell biology researcher in pre-clinical research in drug development companies. She was a research scientist with Pharmacia (Stockholm) between 1994 and 2001 and thereafter joined Biovitrum (Stockholm) as a project team leader and research scientist till 2005. She left Biovitrum in pursuit of her entrepreneurial passion and co-founded her first company – SymCel in 2006. Symcel develops and markets analytical instrumentations for cell biological research and development within the life science industry as well as academic research laboratories. Presently, Dr Bendz works as a business developer and innovation coach with the Stockholm University Innovation.
